LATE-STAGE UX

Much like late-stage capitalism, late-stage UX is characterized by its market saturation, heavy focus on financial growth, commoditization, automation, and increased financialization. About the author

Linné Garrett is the founder and creative director of 829 DESIGN, the brand and design studio she has led since 1999. She works where brand, print, and digital meet, taking complex ideas apart and rebuilding them as clear, intelligent brands that show up consistently at every touchpoint. Her career began in publication design at a Washington, D.C., design and marketing agency, where her accounts included Science News and the Smithsonian Institution. That foundation in narrative, typography, and structure still shapes how she builds brand platforms, identity systems, and campaigns.

She studied Communication Arts and Design at Virginia Commonwealth University under the late design historian Philip B. Meggs, who taught her that design can both reflect its moment and move it forward. Her work has been recognized by Graphic Design USA, the Direct Marketing Association of Washington, D.C., and the Medical Marketing Association, which gave her its In-Awe Award for Advertising.
